Hammar Maskin AB was founded 1974. It is a family company with Mr Bengt-Olof Hammar as Managing Director.

From a humble start the company has grown to be the largest producer of sideloaders (swinglifts or self loading trailers) in the world. This achievement has been possible by focusing on quality from the start until today. Our philosophy is to, at all times, offer the best sideloader available with the best after sales service to go with it.

Hammar Australia, a subsidiary of Hammar Maskin AB, was started in 1995. Being a relatively new, but rapidly expanding Sideloader market, Hammar decided to put maximum effort into Australia and the results have been excellent.

Hammar Australia, with it's local market dedication, produce well over 50% of all new Sideloaders to hit the road. In fact, early in 2001, the 100th Australian HAMMAR was supplied. Not a bad achievement for a "newcomer".
